Operations Associate-  Boutique Fund is hiring an Operations Associate in Stamford, CT.


You will support investment operations, reporting and data management across diverse equities transactions. In this hybrid role onsite 4 days per week, you will play an important role in investment operations and reporting, serving as a key resource for the trading desk.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform daily investment operations, including responding to trade and position breaks, processing cash flows, reviewing new security master data, managing corporate actions and mutual fund tax-harvesting activity, and monitoring data flows. 

  • Manage recurring deliverables including internal and external reporting and the generation and distribution of client statements

  • Handle ad hoc operational work including opening, closing, and transitioning accounts; onboarding custodians and brokers; processing audit confirmations; and providing data for client and prospect DDQs and RFPs

  • Serve as the primary liaison with an outsourced middle-office provider and fund administrators

  • Support the trading desk, as needed, with program trading and unified managed account (UMA) portfolio trading.

  • Analyze and report on data in Microsoft Excel using advanced formulas and pivot tables

  • Act as a data steward for assigned data domains, including investment book of record information

  • Contribute to strategic firm initiatives and cross-functional projects

 

Qualifications include:

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related course of study

  • Industry Experience:  3+ years of investment management industry experience, preferably with an equity asset manager or fund administrator

  • Equities Operations: Working knowledge of equity securities and equity mutual funds or hedge funds including a strong understanding of equities operations including trade settlements, reconciliations, performance or fee calculations, corporate actions, or portfolio/fund accounting. Exposure to derivatives, including swaps and options, is a plus.

  • Technical Skills:  Advanced Excel proficiency required including  pivot tables and functions such as XLOOKUP or VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMPRODUCT, and IF statements

  • Good understanding of OMS trade flow and accounting / portfolio management systems

  • Skills & Attributes:  Analytical and systems-savvy professional with strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, ownership mindset, and the ability to manage complex datasets in a fast-paced investment environment
