Full Stack Developer — Angular / Python / AWS

Midtown Manhattan · Hybrid (2–3 days onsite) · Asset Management · 2–4 years experience NYC-area candidates only. Must be work eligible in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship or transfer of any kind (H-1B, OPT/F-1, or otherwise). You must be able to interview and work onsite in Midtown Manhattan.

About the opportunity

This is a rare seat at a respected, boutique asset management firm in the heart of Midtown, the kind of role that's hard to find and harder to leave. You'll work alongside a small, high-caliber team building and running the technology that powers real financial operations, not watching from the sidelines.

This is a junior-to-mid-level role for someone 2–4 years into their career who is ready to take on more ownership than a big bank or consultancy would ever give them. Estimated base salary is $90,000–$110,000, plus an annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.

We work hard, think carefully, and hold ourselves to a high standard. If you've spent time in financial services — at a bank, a custodian, a prime broker, or an asset manager — and you've been frustrated by how slowly things move or how little of the stack you're allowed to touch, this is the opportunity to change that.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain web applications, APIs, and batch processes using Angular and Python
  • Design database schemas and write tuned SQL across RDBMS platforms (Amazon RDS/Aurora, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server)
  • Build and operate AWS infrastructure: EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudWatch
  • Design for high availability and reliability in 24/7 environments - redundancy, health checks, monitoring, alerting, backup and recovery
  • Own incident response end-to-end: triage, recovery, root cause analysis, and permanent fixes
  • Execute regular maintenance: patching, releases, performance testing
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, and business teams - and be able to explain a technical decision in plain English to a non-technical stakeholder

What we're looking for

  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience building and maintaining web applications and backend systems
  • Strong Angular and Python skills - you write code you're proud of, not just code that works
  • Solid AWS experience across core services (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudWatch)
  • Proven comfort with RDBMS: schema design, SQL tuning, and performance optimization
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and scripting/automation tools
  • Experience with system monitoring, incident response, and high-availability design
  • Strong written and verbal communication; you think clearly and express ideas precisely
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, with a strong academic record
  • Experience in financial services - banking, asset management, custody, prime brokerage, or a fintech serving those industries - is a significant advantage
  • Familiarity with back-office operations (settlements, reconciliation, corporate actions, custody, payments, or compliance workflows) is especially valued

Why join us

  • At a smaller firm, your work is visible, your judgment is trusted, and your growth isn't gated by headcount cycles
  • Build real, production systems that directly support investment operations — not internal tooling, not support tickets
  • Learn more in two years here than you would in five at a large institution
  • Midtown Manhattan office - accessible from across the metro area, with hybrid flexibility
  • A tight-knit, experienced team that will challenge you and invest in you
